First move: small arms to the side – explore ways to move to the music, flying and floating the arms. For strength gains, encourage them to keep the arms at shoulder level or above.
They can go in front or side and up or center. Try initiating the move from the shoulders or initiating from the fingers. It’s fun to explore how this movement can be done!
Second move: Arms down and up – this is sort of a rest but NOT! Be sure they are moving full range of motion up and down, using also the legs to go up on tippy-toes and down bending knees.
Tilt the body as they fly around each other. I always ask what color butterfly they are….gives them more of a visual. Just don’t say you ARE a butterfly….I hope that makes sense!
