Adult Advanced Facilitator 2
Pre-Teach: The SSQQQQ & Arms-up-down
Focus: External on the TP Internal on the roll OTS
Purpose: To increase heart rate and mobilize spinal column
Pre-Teach: ’In This next song we will be traveling with a pattern that goes Slow-Slow-Quick-Quick-Quick-Quick. So try that with me a few times: walk-walk-fast-fast-fast-fast.
Now if you want to you can leap on the slows and light run on the fast ones.’ Do it a few times more and have them play with those options.
Coach them in really using their arms on the slows.
At the end of the song we are gonna dramatically throw our arms up and down to the beat –
I want you to try it out with me now and allow yourself to get your whole body in it – go a bit wild if you feel like it: simply throw arms Up-down-up-down-up-down-up-down!’.
First move: Is the Slow-Slow-Quick-Quick-Quick-Quick. First connect everyone to the rhythm.
Then have them travel the space, playing with leaping on the slows if they want, and do a light run on the quicks.
Invite them to be light on their feet and play with softness in their dance.
Have them add their arms to the dance- especially expressing the slows/leaps with expressive arm movements.
Coach for directional changes and use groove truths to get them dancing like somone is watching them and they don’t give a S**T! J
v
Second move: Is a roll OTS. Have them plant their feet, wide apart. And then roll and circle the upper body. They change direction whenever they want.
Coach for the whole body rolling – so allow arms, spine, head and hips to get involved. Inspire them to use the levels and release the upper body towards the floor if they feel comfortable doing that.
Invite them to dance it with intensity – even a bit wild and dramatic. Have them show their own unique expression.
Third move: Is the arms-up-down. Cue on the beat so everyone is united in throwing their arms dramatically to the ceiling, then to the floor.
Invite them to use their voice as well – you as a facilitator can help give them permission to do so by doing it yourself.
Tell them to allow themselves to go a bit wild with it! No one cares what you look like – show me how YOU dance this!
