Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: Yes Focus: External Purpose: Explore folklore type dancing, create interactions

Pre-Teach: In this song we’ll play with proud and playful folklore dancing. We’ll start with over the top dramatic poses, so try this with me: Open your arms and show me a proud, almost arrogant pose, now change it to a new one, use your levels and play with your facial expressions. *Show them what a dramatic, confident pose looks like and how to dramatically change poses.

Next move is a stomp walk, so try this with me: chest high and stomp-stomp-stomp-stomp, allow lots of attitude and really get your shoulders and upper body moving as well. Then it turns into a fast crazy folklore dance: you can turn, stomp, yell, high knees, kick your butt and partner with someone. You can even swing a partner. Allow yourself to go wild and have fun with it and be very over the top! Let’s play!’.

First move: Poses: Show me your most confident and dramatic pose, use your whole body. Can you make your pose magnificent? Dramatically change your pose. Show me your drama, be proud, super confident and a little arrogant and allow the face to be expressive. Continue to change your poses in an intense and dramatic way. Can you change your level with each pose? Be powerful and strong in your poses, lift your head and your chin in confidence.

Second move: Stomp to folk freestyle. Connect them into the rhythm. Follow the music, as the music builds, build your intensity. As the music gets faster and faster can you follow the music? Show me your folk style moves. You can do heels, you can swing a partner. You can’t get this wrong, just let yourself dance wild and free. Engage each other and play. But follow the music.

*If you are doing this on Zoom, you just eliminate the swing your partner interaction.
