Purpose: To warm up the body and inspire positive self talk.
First move: SQQ. Start with a slow-quick quick. It’s soft and light and a little bouncy too. This song is about being gentle with yourself so let’s practice that together.
Can you travel different places with your SQQ? Maybe moving sideways? Backwards? Can you turn?
How softly and gently can you move?
Can you add your arms on the slow?
Let your upper body and arms dance too. You can’t get it wrong – dance it in a way that feels good in your body!
Listen to the lyrics and let them inspire your dance. It’s light. Carefree. Uplifting. Energetic.
What if you smiled? Try it and see how it feels. Maybe smile to the ones you pass on the dance floor.
Can your shoulders dance? Is it possible to get your head moving as well?
Dance it like you’re giving yourself a big warm hug.
Second move: Dance walk and lift arms on ‘Higher’. Now dance walk and lift your arms when she sings ‘Higher’. Again, lift your arms – and sing it too! Let me hear you sing ‘lift yourself higher’ as you lift your arms.
Dance walk in and out of each other – whenever you want, add a 123.
