Coaching Notes:

Pre-Teach: No
Focus: Internal
Purpose: To increase balance & build lower body strength and mobility

First move: Lift leg-touch big toe to floor-pause-transfer weight. Find somewhere new to softly touch your foot to the floor. You can turn as you transfer your weight. Play with how far away you can place your foot. Slowly and paying attention to your body. Adding your breath. Every time you place your foot on the floor, you step somewhere new. Start to dance the movement pattern. Feel that hesitation once your big toe touches the floor, before you transfer your weight to your whole foot. If you lose your balance, it’s perfectly fine. Just make it part of your dance. So gently. See what’s possible. How can you dance with this with softness and elegance? How can you challenge yourself with stepping away from your body? Curious. Exploring the space around you. Have you tried crossing your foot and playing with your diagonals? Have you tried stepping behind you? Lots of breath.
