Purpose: Changing between tempos and partner work
Before starting the music, introduce that in this song they are going to hold the hand of someone else and lead them across the floor. Demonstrate and explain “There will be no forceful pulling or dragging. You will gently and respectfully lead the other person with a soft touch. The other person will follow. The one leading has the responsibility of avoiding to bump into other couples.
I will let you know when to change roles, so you both will have a chance to lead. But first we are going to play with slow-motion and tempo walking!” Then tell them that the first move is a slow-motion float and walk 4 steps. If you want to, you can use the imagery of being inside a bubble that floats upwards and then it bursts and you walk the 4 steps.
First move: Slow-motion float + walk 4. First move is walking in slow-motion for 4 counts and walk in tempo 4 steps. Repeat for the whole verse. Pretend you are lifted up by your bubble and it bursts walk 1-2-3-4. Ask them to show you a different shape inside the bubble. Invite them to really lift their leg up and balance for the slow part. What if you try changing your directions every time you walk?

Second move: Lead your partner across the floor. Tell them to slowly approach the person closest to them, and partner up by gently touching hands. Count them in: “Walk 1-2, 1-2, lead your partner across the floor. Be careful and mindful of the other kids walking!” Halfway through the chorus you ask them to change roles, so the other person leads! When chorus ends, “Wave goodbye to your partner!
