First move: 123-123. Put the rhythm in your feet – it’s quite fast so keep your steps small. This song is smug, flirty and naughty. So give yourself permission to play with that in your expression. Bend your knees slightly and allow lots of movement in your hips and lower spine.
Travel the room with turns and explore what it feels like to move it backwards and sideways too!
Can you add shoulders? Your arms? What about your head? Lots of confidence and show-off attitude. You own the dance floor!
What does it feel like if you add a little flirt to your dance? Naughtiness? I don’t know what that feels like in your body – give it a try – you can’t get it wrong!
Show me what smug looks like in your dance – no holding back – and even show me what that looks like in your face. Remember, your way is the right way!
Second move: Hip hop walk. Now walk to the beat 1,2-1,2, and give it a braggy, confident hip hop vibe. That means telling a story with your hands, letting your upper body move and your head bob with it. You can bend your knees a bit and lean your upper body forward to get into the feel. You can be braggy and smug. You can show off how awesome you are! Take your walk somewhere new in the room and as you pass someone – tell them something with your hands. And what does your face look like when you show off your awesomeness? You don’t know until you try!
Dance your walk with so much attitude. Can you add your shoulders? How can you bop your head with it? Is it possible to be even more braggy? Even more confident?
Have you tried walking backwards? How can you get your whole body dancing the walk?
Third move: Hip circles. Plant your feet and circle your hips slowly. Change direction when you want. Naughty. Flirty. Dirty! Let your whole body dance it! Now faster with the music!
